The following are the types of surveys and services offered by our company:

Pre-purchase Marine Surveys - A detailed vessel inspection that is highly recommended and at times is required when considering the purchase of any new or pre-owned boat or yacht regardless of its age, condition or manufacturer reputation. The survey will detail the appearance and functionality of the vessel. The survey inspection will include: Structural integrity, wiring and electrical components, drive systems, fuel hoses, fuel transfer systems, engine or other propulsion modes, navigation equipment, other installed support systems, and safety equipment on board. Thermal imagine scanning of all engines, transmissions, generators, electrical systems, tankage, hull, transom and stringers is provided at no additional cost. Oil analysis is available for all engines, reduction gearing (transmissions) and generators. An out of water bottom inspection and a thorough sea trial should be included. This survey is concluded with an overall condition rating, fair market value, and replacement value of the vessel based on its current condition.

Insurance Marine Surveys - This survey is performed to aid the insurance carrier in the determination of the risk factor involved for a particular vessel. Their interests can include structural integrity, safety, as well as the vessel's intended use and cruising range. Many insurance companies now require a survey with a bottom inspection on a boat or yacht before coverage will be offered. The vessel's fair market and replacement values are included in the insurance survey. As a member of SAMS®, all insurance surveys are written to their standards and are accepted by most marine insurance companies in the United States and in other countries as well.

Cargo Marine Surveys- This survey is for companies having cargo shipped in sea containers to other ports internationally. These surveys involve verification of sea container condition, container serial numbers, empty weight, loaded weight, verification of cargo content, volume and container seal. The report includes a complete series of photographs and thermal images of the container empty and loaded.

Valuation Inspection - This type of inspection is conducted to obtain adequate data or information solely for the determination of the fair market value of the vessel. This inspection is typically required for financial matters, estates, charitable donations or litigation purposes.

Damage Inspection - This inspection and investigation is conducted to determine the extent and cause of a reported casualty of a vessel. The resulting report may be used for claims purposes by the client or the insurance company. Normally, this inspection is required to aid in the insurance claims or legal settlement process and could include recommended repairs, estimated repair costs, and if requested by the client, possible cause.

Infrared Thermal Imaging - This service is provided at no additional cost to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, structural or hull problems by finding irregular temperature anomalies using thermographic cameras. These temperature anomalies that can be detected and photographed can reveal hidden or suspected problems with malfunctioning equipment or hull deformities. Such problems infrared thermal imaging can detect are: Malfunctioning electrical equipment, overheating wires, malfunctioning bearings, engine heat sources, transmission heat sources, leaks in tanks where they can not be typically sighted, marine air conditioning malfunctions, and fiberglass delamination. This testing can save a lot of time and money by finding the root causes for problems on board a vessel. This is an ideal technology for a prospective buyer to see things within the vessel that may not be seen by using conventional marine surveying methods. Thermographic images are enhanced using computerized software and then composed into a professional looking report with a list of findings and recommendations. Thermal imaging is only conducted by certified thermographers that have had the proper training and experience and can accurately decipher the thermal images for possible problems.

Video Presentation - This service is offered for remote clients that who can not be present to see or inspect the vessel for themselves. This service is offered to save the prospective buyer the time and expense of visiting the vessel personally. A video of the entire boat is recorded and converted to a DVD or MPEG format and shipped, emailed or posted online as requested. This method can be very useful in determining if further interest in a particular vessel is desired or for piece of mind for an existing vessel owner that may need their vessel inspected for some reason. This service is considerably less than the cost of a marine survey.

Captain Services- Captain services are provided by U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captains. Captains can also be provided that have towing and sailing endorsements. Captain services include: Yacht deliveries, charter captains, boat training, sailboat handling, vessel safety training, captain companions, and crew services. We provide these services in the United States and throughout the Caribbean.

Oil Sample Analysis - This test includes a spectroscopic examination of the oil to determine the levels of metals, additives, and possibly coolant or water. The test will also measure viscosity and the percentage of solids in the oil. The test report will include possible causes of any irregularities.

All of our vessel surveys and inspections are conducted by using non destructive testing. We leave the vessel the way we found it.

We also offer other consulting services for new boat, yacht, and sailboat owners that include: Ultrasonic thickness testing, corrosion analysis, CO (carbon monoxide) testing, engine compression testing, yacht maintenance inspections, yacht construction inspections, and repair inspections for boat and yacht owners.
